Clean, healthy air

New buildings are increasingly being made more airtight and energy-efficient. But these improvements can have a detrimental effect on indoor air quality. The first indication of poor air quality and inadequate ventilation is the build-up of musty smells. These may indicate that mould or mildew is accumulating in your home as a result of excess moisture. We create moisture in the home just by breathing, showering, cooking and having indoor plants. Excess moisture can seep into the walls and woodwork, and cause dry rot, wet rot and other structural problems. Other effects of excess humidity and moisture include peeling wallpaper, paint discolouration, and condensation on walls and windows.

Recair is the answer
There is a simple way to avoid this. In winter, Recair’s products quickly bring excess humidity in the house under control, while in summer, they reduce the amount of moisture in ventilated air. With a Recair heat-recovery core installed in your home heat-recovery ventilation (HRV) system, you can rest assured that your indoor air quality is at its best – and that you will be saving on your energy bills at the same time!

How it works
A Recair core in an HRV system recovers heat energy while also ventilating rooms. Stale air is extracted from the room or the whole building, and at the same time, fresh air is brought in from the outside, creating a balanced intake/extract system. The two airflows pass through a heat exchanger, where 94% of heat from the extracted air is transferred to the incoming air and delivered back into the room or buildings.

Humidity control
Recair’s products manage the amount of humidity in your home, helping to prevent the growth of mould and bacteria and controlling the spread of allergens that results from too much humidity. This not only protects you and your family, but also protects furnishings and prevents structural damage to your home. Unlike other products that reduce humidity, Recair products achieve this without leaving you feeling cold!

Clean, healthy air
A ventilation system with Recair at its core replaces stale indoor air with fresher, cleaner, oxygen-rich outdoor air. This minimises the build-up of harmful pollutants and reduces concentrations of chemicals, fumes, CO2 and other contaminants in the home. The system creates the fresh-air feel of an open window without energy or heat loss or the associated safety risks.
